北屯老字號:乾爹的私人廚房
這家金川小館冰箱在很久很久一前曾在這裡介紹過,這家是冰箱乾爹在陸園之外,另一個號稱他私人廚房的小館子。冰箱曾經去吃那麼一次,對他們的口味常常懷念不已。這回是冰箱同學為了招待日本來台中工作的工程師,特別打電話問我,因為工程師落腳在中科大飯店,所以最後就決定到附近的金川吃飯。

I introduced Jin Chuan Restaurant a long time ago. It's one of my godfather's favorite spots besides Lu Yuan. I've missed their flavors since my last visit. This time, a friend asked for a recommendation to host a Japanese engineer staying nearby, so we decided to revisit Jin Chuan.
經典開胃小菜與必點回鍋肉
桌上的小菜,一邊喝著啤酒一邊配很不錯。金川的花生聽說是自己炒的,味道很好,超級香的。記得之前跟乾爹來,一邊當下酒零嘴我們爺倆總會嗑個兩三盤,哈哈哈哈! 雖然很久沒吃到,不過這回再吃味道一樣好唷...
香芹牛肉,這是店家推薦的新菜,點一份來吃,味道不錯,很下飯!
吃川菜,回鍋肉這種東西當然是必點的菜色囉。切得很薄的五花肉片,配上醬料大火爆炒,下酒又下飯。辣豆瓣微辣的風味,剛好中和掉肥肉的膩口感喔...

The house-roasted peanuts are incredibly fragrant—perfect with beer! We ordered the Celery Beef (a new recommendation) which was savory and great with rice. Of course, Twice-Cooked Pork (Huiguorou) is a must in a Sichuan restaurant. Thinly sliced pork belly stir-fried with spicy bean paste—it's the ultimate comfort food.
招待日本客人的川味體驗
沒有吃飯,所以來張蔥油餅給小日本嚐嚐,他吃完直說"歐一細"喔~~~
有鑑於日本人對川菜認識有所謂的指標性菜色,貼心的冰箱特別點了"麻婆豆腐"跟"乾煸四季豆"。果然,這兩樣一出來,小日本的眼睛馬上為之一亮-他終於知道晚上這頓在吃什麼囉,哈哈哈!
最後,再來道手工丸黃瓜湯,酒足飯飽,相當舒服!!!

I ordered Scallion Pancakes for our Japanese guest, and he loved it ("Oishii!"). Knowing that Japanese people associate Sichuan cuisine with Mapo Tofu, I ordered that along with Dry-Fried Green Beans. His eyes lit up immediately! We finished with a refreshing Handmade Meatball & Cucumber Soup.
跨越語言的美食交流
席間,我們三個人其實很好玩,因為日本人不會說英文,台灣人不太會說日文(冰箱日文都是看"片"學的...XD)。本來想說溝通應該會很困難,沒想到比手劃腳加紙筆、幾句生澀的日文竟也讓我們一直愉快的聊到吃飽,哈哈哈哈。說真的,只要有心,即使語言不通,用心去跟人結交,其實心意完全都能明白感受。天涯若比鄰的感覺,說其實真的還滿不賴的呢....

Communication was fun since the guest didn't speak English and my Japanese is... limited (learned from movies XD). But with body language, pen and paper, and broken Japanese, we had a great time! It proves that sincere connection transcends language barriers. Good food and company make the world feel smaller.
