懷舊的柑仔糖,這是冰箱童年的回憶,現在的小孩已經不吃他囉。
香蕉新樂園相信對喜歡這種懷舊老店的朋友來說一定都不陌生。這種店的興起,大概是在冰箱念大學的時候,也就是民國 80 年代。想到那個時候,真的隨便就一家這種類似的店。不管是餐廳、酒吧,還是商店,一堆懷舊風...不過,當流行褪去後,能生存在市場上多年的,都是經得起考驗的記憶!

Nostalgic "Ganzi" candy—this is a childhood memory for me, though kids nowadays probably don't eat it anymore.
Banana New Paradise is certainly no stranger to those who love retro-style shops. The rise of this kind of establishment was around the time I was in college, in the 1990s. Back then, retro-themed restaurants, bars, and stores were everywhere. However, after the trend faded, the ones that survived for so long were the memories that stood the test of time!
門口的經典地標:台鐵老火車
店外的小叮噹是老闆跟台鐵標回來的骨董,以前可以進去參觀,這回去已經不開放了。想當初這種火車我第一次去集集就是搭這種,應該是很多鐵道迷心中不可抹滅的往事。
走進時光隧道:民國五十年代的街景
店裡刻意營造民國四、五十年代的台灣,其實我這麼年輕一點都不熟 (小聲)。雖然是人工刻意營造的裝潢,但是大部分的道具都是真的骨董,說真的在裡面待久了還真的有點時空錯亂的感覺說。
春露商店與懷舊小物的尋寶
雖然餐廳裡的春露商店是佈景,裡面的東西都是已經過期的收藏品,不過店家也有設置一處販賣一些懷舊商品的小舖。看了看架子上陳列的商品,小時候的記憶不斷浮現,懷念呀!!!
特別介紹這包蝦仁酥,因為我老婆找了好久,竟然在香蕉找到!
架上陳列的汽車模型,是我小時候在路上還有看到的大發三輪車。
這一台鐵皮車是大陸貨,看起來做工很粗糙。不過帶著懷舊的心情,其實做工精細與否,好像也不是重點,反正我只是看看又沒買,哈哈哈!我問老婆小時候在路上有沒有看過這台?他說這他就真的沒看過...這就是人家說七年的差距嗎?????XD
抽籤抽番薯糖、涼粉、ㄤ阿慓、驚喜包等等,我真的只能說超經典!!
記憶中的經典熱炒與台菜
除了裝潢很講究,重點他們家的菜也還滿好吃的。
第一道,是每回去必點的油淋去骨雞。去骨雞腿肉,以油淋的方式處理,外皮香酥,裡面的雞肉還是軟嫩 JUICY。搭配的醬汁是清淡的蔥花醬油烏醋汁,口味相當特別!
再來這道沙茶羊肉,肉片沒有什麼羊羶味,且相當入味。肉質軟嫩,搭配扁豌豆,感覺跟外面的沙茶羊肉很不一樣。整體來說很下飯,味道夠卻沒有一般沙茶羊肉的油膩感,大推!
招牌肉燥飯,十足古早味唷,也是每回必點!
香辣夠味的五更腸旺,要不是小鳥胃肯定多喀三碗飯!
青菜底加辣....燙熟地瓜葉淋上特製肉燥,一下子就吃光光!
我老婆說他有叉燒包強迫症,就是看到菜單有不點會難過,所以叉燒包就出現了!看他沒兩三下把三大顆叉燒包都幹掉,想必味道應該還不賴吧???
最後來盅今日例湯 - 香菇干貝雞。
這一餐吃了差不多 880 元,香蕉新樂園完全現金交易,不接受刷卡。當時假日人潮洶湧,想去吃的朋友都得早一點到餐廳去排隊呢!

Aside from the elaborate decor, the main point is that their food was actually quite good.
The first dish is a must-order every time we visited: Oil-Drenched Boneless Chicken. Boneless chicken leg meat is treated with hot oil, making the skin crispy and fragrant while the meat inside remains soft and juicy. The accompanying sauce is a light soy sauce and black vinegar mixture with chopped scallions, creating a very unique flavor!
Next is the Shacha Mutton. The meat has no strong gamey smell and is deeply flavorful. The meat is tender and paired with snow peas, making it feel quite different from the shacha mutton you find elsewhere. Overall, it goes perfectly with rice—flavorful but without the usual greasiness. Highly recommended!
The Signature Braised Pork Rice (Rouzao Fan) is full of traditional flavor and is another must-order!
The spicy and flavorful Five-Spice Pig Intestines and Blood (Wu Geng Chang Wang)—if I didn't have a small appetite, I could definitely eat three more bowls of rice with this!
My wife says she has an obsessive-compulsive disorder regarding BBQ Pork Buns (Char Siu Bao); if she sees them on the menu and doesn't order them, she feels sad, so here they are! Seeing her polish off three big buns in no time, the taste must have been pretty good, right???
Finally, the soup of the day—Mushroom and Scallop Chicken Soup.
This meal cost about 880 NTD. Taiwan Banana New Paradise was strictly cash-only and did not accept credit cards. On weekends, the crowds were huge, so friends who wanted to eat there always had to line up early!
