看完了火車也差不多近晚餐時間,第一次帶家人到彰化走走,想去吃一些記憶中懷念的味道。原本鎖定的是南郭路上的"黑猴麵",但因為停車與帶著小孩步行的考量,最後跟著GPS來到陳稜路上的百年名店——貓鼠麵。其實一開到附近才發現,原來貓鼠麵就在阿璋肉圓旁邊,導航帶得我心驚膽顫的。

After watching the trains, it was nearly dinner time. For my family's first trip to Changhua, I wanted to revisit some nostalgic flavors. I initially aimed for "Black Monkey Noodles" on Nanguo Road, but due to parking issues and walking with children, I followed the GPS to the legendary "Mao Shu Noodles" (Cat Mouse Noodles) on Chenleng Road. I only realized upon arrival that it's right next to the famous A-Zhang Meatballs!
貓鼠麵的由來:與食材無關的百年綽號
說到貓鼠麵,其實跟貓肉、鼠肉一點關係也沒有辣,"貓鼠"其實是老闆的綽號。在早期農業社會,沒有店名的小攤,大家習慣以老闆的綽號來做識別。這就像台南灣裡的"火城麵"一樣,火城是老闆的名字。這家是百年老店,相信網路上有相當多資訊可以供查詢。

Despite the name "Cat Mouse Noodles," it has nothing to do with cat or mouse meat! "Mao Shu" was actually the original owner's nickname. In early agricultural society, small stalls without formal names were often identified by the owner's nickname. This is a century-old establishment with a rich history you can easily find online.
因為還沒六點我們就到了,旁邊超好停車。走進店裡,我們應該是晚餐第一批客人。我對這家店的認識僅來自很久以前的電視節目介紹,所以是帶著空白的感覺來用餐的。美味與否是很主觀的,每個人口味與回憶不同,感覺也就不同。

We arrived before 6 PM, so parking was easy. We were the first customers of the dinner shift. I came with an open mind, as my only knowledge of this place was from an old TV show. Taste is subjective; everyone has different preferences and memories that shape their dining experience.
貓鼠三寶麵:雞捲、香菇丸與蝦丸的盛宴
麵我們叫了一乾一湯的貓鼠三寶麵。所謂三寶就是雞捲、香菇丸以及蝦丸,這碗麵一次都可以嚐到。乾麵多了醬油膏,湯麵則是滿滿的靈魂湯頭。這配置讓我聯想到鹿港的黑松趩仔麵。

We ordered the "Mao Shu Three Treasure Noodles" in both soup and dry versions. The "Three Treasures" refer to the handmade chicken roll, mushroom meatball, and shrimp ball. The dry version uses a savory soy paste, while the soup version features their legendary broth. It reminds me of the famous noodles in Lukang.
靈魂湯頭:大骨、扁魚與蛤仔的鮮美交織
說到這個湯頭,第一口喝下去果然名不虛傳,海味十足且相當鮮美。大骨加上扁魚以及彰化著名的蛤仔一起燉煮,連肉燥都加了蛤仔下去製作,真的是不惜重資。手工雞捲、香菇丸與滿滿蝦味的蝦丸表現都非常出色,這碗麵讓我想起台中的老攤"麵哥、麵嫂"。

The broth is truly remarkable—rich in seafood flavor and incredibly fresh. It's slow-cooked with pork bones, dried flatfish, and Changhua's famous clams. Even the minced meat sauce contains clams! The handmade rolls and balls are all excellent, especially the shrimp ball which is bursting with sweetness.
滷到入味的豬腳與經典筍絲排骨湯
我們另外點了筍絲排骨湯,以一盅方式上菜,味道適中配麵剛好。滷豬腳皮軟且帶Q度,皮的部分很出色,可惜瘦肉稍嫌過柴。雖然我對豬腳的喜好受阿水獅影響較深,但這裡的豬腳也算可口。重點是,整餐吃下來才200多塊,彰化美食真的物超所值!

We also ordered the bamboo shoot and pork rib soup, which is served in an individual jar and pairs perfectly with the noodles. The braised pork knuckles have a soft yet chewy skin, though the meat was slightly dry. Overall, the meal was delicious and only cost around 200 NTD—food in Changhua is such a great value!
