拜物流產業發達之賜,過去許多具有產地優勢的農產食材,現在不用千里迢
迢跑去現場,也能在住的地方附近找得到。北上訪友搭火車回台中,因為晚
餐沒吃早已飢腸轆轆。剛好因選擇散步回家途中經過繼光街這家虱目魚老店,
那就乾脆吃飽再回家。

distances to the actual production sites. When I was visiting friends in the north and
taking the train back to Taichung, I was famished because I hadn't had dinner.
Coincidentally, while choosing to walk home, I passed by this old store on Ji Guang Street
that serves milkfish. So, I decided to fill my stomach before heading home.
This shop is located at the intersection of Chenggong Road and Jiguang Street, with a
Family Mart convenience store on the corner. The location is very easy to find.
晚上六點半左右開始一值營業到凌晨一點,只供應晚餐跟消夜,晚上營業的
路邊餐用餐也比較涼爽。民國67年開始營業至今45年頭就這樣過去,這家店
應該也一路看這一區從全盛時期,到現在的東南亞化的全部過程吧?

This restaurant has been in operation since 1978 and has been serving dinner and late-night
meals from around 6:30 PM until 1:00 AM. Throughout its 45-year history, it has witnessed
the transformation of this neighborhood from its heyday to its current Southeast Asian
influence. Dining at this roadside eatery in the evening also offers a cooler atmosphere.
到店時間比較晚差不多快10點,有些東西已經完售,那就基本款的餐點來一
下就好。
I arrived at the store quite late, around 10 o'clock, and some items were already sold out.
So, I'll just go for the basic menu options.
滷魚頭($40/2顆) 魚頭的尺寸稍微偏小,滷汁走的是清爽路線,但滿滿的膠
原蛋白,是吃滷魚頭最迷人之處。
The size of the fish head is slightly small, and the braising sauce takes a refreshing route,
but it is filled with abundant collagen and original proteins, which is the most charming
aspect of eating braised fish head.
取魚頭的時候也有包含一小塊魚肝,其實我個人還滿喜歡吃這個魚肝,因
為味道相當濃郁,他們家的也沒有土味。雖然虱目魚頭好吃,火候若到位
幾乎也不用用牙齒就能吃。只是也不是沒有缺點,因為虱目魚暗刺多,吃
的時候真的要很小心,不然很容易卡魚刺或是被銳利的魚骨刺到。
乾魚皮($50) 因為看剛剛的魚頭猜想店家用的虱目魚比較小隻,所以魚皮想
When it comes to fish head, there is also a small piece of fish liver included. Personally,
I quite enjoy eating this fish liver because it has a rich flavor and lacks any muddy taste.
Although the fish head of the silver carp is delicious and almost effortless to eat due to its
perfect cooking, it does have its drawbacks. The milkfish has many hidden bones, so one
must be very careful while eating it to avoid getting stuck by fish bones or sharp spines.
乾魚皮($50) 因為看剛剛的魚頭猜想店家用的虱目魚比較小隻,所以魚皮想
當然應該也比較小片,這樣一份三片完整魚皮下去汆燙。燙得的魚皮,店
家會附上哇沙米醬油膏。雖然小片,但是鮮度沒問題也沒土味。
Because I noticed in the recent fish head dish that the fish used by the restaurant seems
to be relatively small, I assume that the fish skin would also be smaller in size. So, when
blanching three pieces of fish skin together, the restaurant would serve it with wasabi soy
sauce paste. Despite being small, the fish skin is fresh and doesn't have any fishy or earthy
taste.
虱目魚肚粥($120) 虱目魚肚粥採用整片虱目魚肚入菜,雖然說一碗只賣$120,
不過他們家的魚度明顯是比較小片的,剛好可以裝到湯碗裡面不凸出來。
The congee with sliced milkfish belly uses whole pieces of boneless milkfish belly in the
dish. Although it is priced at only $120 per bowl, the fish belly they use is noticeably
smaller in size, fitting perfectly within the soup bowl without overflowing.
雖然尺寸較小,但是品質還是相當不錯的,賣相也相當好。
Although it is smaller in size, the quality is still quite good, and the appearance is also
very pleasing.
這一張跟湯匙放在一起比較,應該就能讓大家更有概念它的實際尺寸。
This picture, when compared with a spoon placed next to it, should give everyone a
better idea of its actual size.
雖然說是魚肚粥,其實台中吃到的版本比較像是湯泡飯。湯頭部份我個人
感覺有比較偏淡一點,桌上也沒有相關調味料能讓大家自行做調整,只有
多款辣椒醬及辣椒粉、還有胡椒可以用。說真的,這樣吃下來也是要價$210,
說真的吃虱目魚真的就是不便宜啊!!!!
Although it is called "fish belly congee," the version I had in Taichung was more like rice
in soup. Personally, I found the broth to be somewhat mild, and there were no related
condiments on the table for individuals to adjust the flavor. There were only various types
of chili sauce, chili powder, and pepper available. Honestly, at a price of $210, eating
milkfish can be quite expensive!
