花蓮鯉魚潭名產活跳蝦,你敢吃嗎? Would you dare to eat the live jumping shrimp? 花蓮美食 小吃 壽豐974

蝦子相信大家常吃,但是活跳跳的鮮蝦直接下肚,這種經驗可就不是很多
人有了吧?我記得吃活跳蝦印象最深刻是幾年前在澎湖的土銀小吃,那天
因為餐聽進了活體狗蝦,據說活體相當稀有,當然來一份嚐嚐鮮。

Eating shrimp is a common practice for many people, but the experience of consuming
 live, wriggling shrimp is not something that most individuals have encountered. I recall
 the most vivid memory of eating live shrimp was a few years ago at Tuyin Snacks in 
Penghu. On that day, due to a special order, I had the opportunity to try live mantis 
shrimp, which is considered quite rare. Of course, I decided to taste it for its freshness 
and uniqueness.

大家看這澎湖的活體狗蝦是不是超級漂亮?滋味當然也是名不虛傳,口感
又脆又鮮甜。這回到馬太鞍參加豐年祭,回程北上一路玩回台北,途中友
人提到鯉魚潭一條街有間阿嬤ㄟ木瓜牛奶很有名,還有活跳蝦可以吃。
既然走過、路過,那就不要錯過,LET'S GO!!

Look at these live mantis shrimp from Penghu, aren't they incredibly beautiful? And 
of course, the taste lives up to the reputation – the texture is both crispy and delicately 
sweet. This time, I attended the Harvest Festival in Matiao'an and on the way back to 
Taipei, I made a leisurely trip, stopping by the Liyu Lake area. A friend mentioned a 
famous spot along Liyu Lake Street, where you can find Grandma's Papaya Milk, 
renowned for its deliciousness. They also serve live dancing shrimp. Since we're passing
by anyway, let's not miss it. LET'S GO

東樂活跳蝦

一路從瑞穗走台9線北上,目的地是月底即將結束營業的戴記扁食,而位
於壽豐的鯉魚潭正是我們必經之路。潭邊的鯉魚潭一條街,看起來整排都
在賣活跳蝦,哈哈哈哈~說真的當天是禮拜天,其實鯉魚潭並沒有什麼遊
客,想當年國旅風氣盛行時,帶客人到鯉魚潭可是人山人海。榮景不復當
年,真的叫人不勝唏噓。說真的這回從日本回來,真的可以明顯感受台灣
國旅昂貴的費用負擔以及旅遊品質,花一樣的錢出國真的還比較爽~

Heading north on Taiwan Route 9 all the way from Ruisui, our destination is Daiji 
Bianshi, which is about to close at the end of the month. Liyu Lake in Shoufeng is right 
on our way. Alongside the lake, there's a street called Liyu Lake Street, and it seems 
like they're all selling live jumping shrimp. Hahaha~ Honestly, it's a Sunday, and there 
aren't many tourists at Liyu Lake. Back in the day when group tours were popular, 
Liyu Lake used to be packed with people. Those glorious times are gone, and it's truly
nostalgic. Coming back from Japan this time, I can really feel the expensive cost and
the quality of tourism in Taiwan. Spending the same money to travel abroad is honestly
more enjoyable.

因為本來是講到木瓜牛奶來的,所以直接前往這家東樂飯店(網路上的資訊
是海鷗碼頭,難道店家有船?)

Because we were originally discussing papaya milk, we headed directly to this
 restaurant called Dong Le Restaurant (information from the internet suggests it's 
near the Seagull Pier – could the restaurant have a boat?).

這是鯉魚潭名產蝦餅,一個價位應該在$40左右,裡面包有高麗菜等餡料,
感覺跟蚵嗲很像,但是我們當天沒有點,就欣賞一下櫥窗裡的。

This is the famous local product "Shrimp Cake" from Liyu Lake, priced at around $40. 
It contains fillings such as cabbage. It seems quite similar to Oyster Omelette, but we
didn't order any that day, so we just admired it through the shop window.

用餐環境基本上還算寬敞舒適,應該有個十來桌左右。

The dining environment is generally spacious and comfortable, with around ten 
tables or so.

炒山蘇一份在這邊應該都在$200左右,這一盤本來是隔壁桌點的,因為送
錯桌所以才有機會吃到。山裡的山蘇新鮮又脆口,搭配薑絲跟小魚乾一起
炒,不油不膩吃起來很清爽。

活跳蝦一份看別家店的菜單是$150,因為過山蝦好像很難人工繁殖,所以
基本上魚缸裡的活蝦都是野生捕撈。活跳跳的過山蝦,放進裝有醬油、蒜
頭、辣椒、烏醋等調好的醬汁的碗中,蓋上特製上蓋,約莫3~5分鐘等蝦
蝦不跳就可以吃了。

A plate of lively hopping freshwater prawns from another restaurant's menu is priced 
at $150. Due to the perceived difficulty in artificially breeding crayfish, the live crayfish
in fish tanks are generally wild-caught. The lively jumping crayfish are placed into a 
bowl containing prepared sauce made with soy sauce, garlic, chili, black vinegar, and 
other ingredients. The bowl is covered with a specially designed lid, and after about 
3 to 5 minutes, when the crayfish cease to jump, they are ready to be consumed.

因為淡水溪蝦沒有很大隻,所以一次夾好幾隻一大口吃才過癮。

Because crayfish are not very large, it's satisfying to grab several of them at once 
and eat them in one big bite.

新鮮的蝦子蝦肉本身會呈半透明狀,表面光澤度相當好,就是新鮮的最好
證明。當然,這種淡水河鮮最好還是煮全熟再吃比較安全,生的淺嚐即止,
不要常常吃比較健康。

Fresh shrimp meat itself appears semi-transparent with a good level of surface 
glossiness, which is the best indication of freshness. Of course, it's advisable to cook
freshwater seafood thoroughly before consumption for safety reasons. While it's 
acceptable to have a light taste of raw seafood, it's not recommended to consume 
it frequently for the sake of better health.

最後這一杯木瓜牛奶聽說不加糖跟水,但因為乳糖不耐加上接下來還有好長
一段旅程,這次就先無緣囉~木瓜牛奶一杯在這邊差不多$60。

The last cup of papaya milk, I heard, is made without sugar and water. However, due 
to lactose intolerance and a long journey ahead, I'll have to pass on it this time. A cup 
of papaya milk costs around $60 here.
