在彰化大街小巷隨便找,任何時間好像都可以找到賣爌肉飯的。更特別的是,其中也不乏那種幾十年老店。其實因為彰化也算是養豬大縣,所以豬肉來源相對穩定也新鮮,說是地方特產一點都不為過。晚上要吃消夜,我想來到永樂街跟民族路這邊,應該會有很多店可以選擇。

If you search through the streets and alleys of Changhua, you can find braised pork rice (Kong Rou Fan) at almost any time of the day. What’s even more special is that many of these are decade-old establishments. Since Changhua is a major pig-farming county, the pork supply is relatively stable and fresh, making it a true local specialty. For late-night snacks, the intersection of Yongle Street and Minzu Road offers plenty of choices.
意外的轉折:深夜民族路的排隊人潮
原本要帶大家到彰化吃一家我看好幾遍的鵝肉,結果買地骨露的時候,發現隔壁的阿成鵝肉這天"剛好"休息,運氣也太好。飯還是要吃啊,後來看到停車處對面這家林爌肉飯才剛開始營業,店門口就大排長龍的盛況,決定就來湊個熱鬧。

I originally planned to take everyone to a goose meat shop I've been eyeing, but I discovered that "A-Cheng Goose Meat" was closed for the day. Talk about luck! But we still had to eat. I noticed "Lin Kong Rou Fan" across the street was just opening and already had a long queue, so we decided to join the crowd.
其實店裡的人潮是一波一波,外帶的人居多。如果要內用,現場稍等一下很快就會有位置。店裡供應的餐點有飯也有麵,還有一些煎魚、炒菜類可以點,選擇很多。

經典主角:色澤誘人的腿庫爌肉飯
爌肉飯(45元) 坦白說,這塊肉的賣相不論在色澤或是完整度,看起來就是很好吃的感覺。採用的部位是腿庫,彰化的爌肉飯上桌的時候,用來固定肉的竹籤一般都不會幫客人拔掉。

Braised Pork Rice (45 NTD). Honestly, the appearance of this pork—from its color to its integrity—is incredibly appetizing. They use the pork leg (trotter) portion. In Changhua, braised pork is typically served with the bamboo skewer still attached to hold the meat together.
皮跟肥肉部分已經焢到軟爛,但是瘦肉的部分還滿有口感的。滷汁鹹香,淋在白飯上面超搭的。

彰化特色:是湯也是蛋的茶碗蒸
茶碗蒸(40元) 沒有錯,在彰化這邊,茶碗蒸可是一種湯的名字。點茶碗蒸看到端出一碗湯,可別覺得意外。湯頭清爽不油膩,真的就是茶碗蒸的味道。另外也點了筒仔米糕(30元)。

Chawanmushi (Steamed Egg Soup, 40 NTD). That's right—in Changhua, Chawanmushi is often the name of a soup. Don't be surprised when you get a bowl of broth with steamed egg inside. The soup is light and refreshing. We also ordered the Tube Rice Pudding (30 NTD).
鮮味十足:扁魚白菜與筍絲排骨
筍絲排骨(40元) 表現中規中矩,筍絲的味道有煮出來。扁魚白菜(40元) 是味道最重的湯,可以嚐到很濃的扁魚味與蝦仁乾的鮮甜,海味十足。

Pork Rib Soup with Bamboo Shoots (40 NTD) is solid and standard. The Stewed Cabbage with Dried Flatfish (40 NTD) has the strongest flavor, rich with dried fish and dried shrimp sweetness—a real taste of the sea.
