When you visit Shenji New Village in Taichung, besides exploring the creative cultural shops and soaking in the artistic atmosphere, you absolutely cannot miss the hidden gourmet gems in the alleys! This time, I want to recommend "Sanbi Ramen," a spot that has been generating a lot of buzz on social media recently. Known for its rich tonkotsu (pork bone) broth and the incredibly generous service of unlimited free noodle refills, this shop has quickly captured the hearts of many ramen lovers. Imagine enjoying a piping hot bowl of rich, savory ramen on a cool evening, topped with tender chashu pork and fresh green onions—it's truly one of life's great pleasures! Even better, this delicious bowl of ramen costs only NT$135, making it an absolute blessing for budget-conscious foodies and students! If you're looking for high CP value ramen in Taichung, "Sanbi Ramen" is definitely your top choice.
Who says night markets are only for snacks? 🌶️ Oyster omelets, stinky tofu, Taiwanese meatballs... these are all classics of Miaodong Night Market. But did you know? Hidden in this bustling Taiwanese flavor is a mouthwatering Japanese oden spot! The contrast is surprising, isn't it? Today, let me show you another side of Miaodong Night Market!
Crab miso soup, a common delicacy at sushi restaurants in Japan, is now available in Taichung! And you can get it with half a crab for only NT$100. If you love sushi, this is a great new option for you. Let's take a look!
Recently, the north wing of LaLaport in Taichung opened, featuring many Japanese brands in the food court. For someone like me who hasn't been to Japan for almost 4 years, this is great news! Today, let's explore one of the new arrivals: Nihonbashi Seafood Bowl Tsujihan.
This shop claims to be the No.1 seafood bowl in Tokyo. Located in the food court on the 5th floor of LaLaport, it's quite spacious. They currently offer four set menus, with the most expensive being the "Taki" set at $499 NT.
用餐環境與自助服務
雖然在美食街,不過店裡還是備有六個板前形式座位,可以近距離看師傅料理。
自助區有黑豆茶、白開水、檸檬水以及昆布薑片可以自由取用。

Even though it's in a food court, there are counter seats available. The self-service area offers black bean tea, lemon water, and pickled ginger with kombu.
The "Taki" set comes with Tai (Sea Bream) sashimi in sesame sauce. Eat one slice first and save the other for later. The seafood bowl itself features chopped seafood piled high like a mountain, topped with ikura. It's more like a luxurious seafood bibimbap than a traditional chirashi sushi.
When about 1/3 of the rice is left, place the saved sashimi slice on top and pour the hot Tai broth over it. The heat cooks the fish perfectly, creating a delicious seafood chazuke (rice soup).
For $499, the quality is decent. However, I personally prefer whole slices of sashimi over the chopped style, which feels less premium. While the two-way eating style (donburi + chazuke) is unique, if you prefer traditional seafood bowls with large cuts of fish, this might not be your favorite.
