雖然真正的眷村味道越來越難找,不過有些老店卻還是始終屹立不搖。
像今天冰箱來到的這家孟記復興飯店,就是在清泉崗這邊屹立了超過半
世紀的老店了喔。
Although the authentic taste of military dependents' village is becoming increasingly
hard to find, there are still some old establishments that remain steadfast. One such
example is Meng Ji Fu Xing Restaurant, which the refrigerator visited today. It has
stood tall for over half a century in the Qingquan Gang area.

晚餐時刻,店門口早已停滿前來用餐顧客的名車,可見東西好吃,不管
多偏僻饕客還是一樣會殺過來的。

其實來這邊也可以搭乘市公車240路,在忠義里(中科實驗高中)下車即到達。

To be honest, the geographical location of this restaurant is indeed quite remote and challenging to find. My navigation system even missed a junction, causing me to take
a detour. Fortunately, I eventually managed to arrive successfully. Despite it not being
a holiday, the restaurant's entrance was already filled with luxury cars belonging to
customers who came to dine. This indicates that the food must be delicious, and food
enthusiasts are willing to go the extra mile to experience it.
其實來這邊也可以搭乘市公車240路,在忠義里(中科實驗高中)下車即到達。
只是這個公車的班次應該也不是很密集,建議大家要搭乘之前先上網了解
一下班次狀況比較保險。(剛幫大家查了一下,這班公車例假日及寒暑假都
停駛,台中的大眾運輸真的很阿雜!)
In fact, you can also take Bus Route 240 to get here. Just get off at Zhongyi Village
(Zhongke Experimental High School) and you will arrive. However, the frequency of
this bus may not be very frequent. I recommend everyone to check the schedule online
before taking it for a safer option. (I just checked, and this bus does not operate on
weekends, holidays, and summer/winter vacations. Public transportation in Taichung
can be quite chaotic!)
I'm about to step into a restaurant, and the entire facade gives a patriotic vibe.
In fact, they have a sister restaurant nearby called "Unified Restaurant" I have also
been to there before. I plan to visit again in the future to gather more material and
introduce it to everyone!
It seems that the restaurant is hosting a company gathering or a celebration banquet
of some sort. Several tables were already filled with people early in the day.
祖傳的青島泡菜,純天然發酵,是最道地的外省風味泡菜。
As soon as I entered the store, my eyes were immediately drawn to these two barrels
of pickled vegetables. They were Meng Grandma's ancestral Qingdao pickles, naturally
fermented and the most authentic out-of-province-style pickles.
價目表上林林總總的餐點很多,有炒菜、有飯也有麵等,想吃什麼就自
己點。
The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including stir-fried vegetables, rice dishes, and
noodles, among others. You can choose whatever you want to eat and place your order.
如果人多懶得點,菜單另一面也有合菜推薦,菜色內容都寫得很清楚。
If people are too lazy to choose, there is also a section of recommended dishes on the
other side of the menu, and the contents of the dishes are clearly written.
There is nothing wrong with ordering by hand-writing on a notepad and handing it to
the restaurant for meal preparation. To be honest, I was initially concerned that the
restaurant might not understand my handwriting, as I tend to have more artistic writing.
Fortunately, there were no issues in the end. It all worked out well!
加自然發酵而成,所以口味是偏酸完全不甜,吃慣台式酸甜口感泡菜的朋友
可能會很不習慣,但是我個人超愛這種。目前這種天然發酵的外省泡菜真的
越來越難吃到,台中市區湖南味牛肉麵應該還有喔。
Chinese-style pickled vegetables, due to the large group, were ordered in a large
portion, priced at $50 per serving. These pickled vegetables are naturally fermented
without any additives other than salt brine, resulting in a taste that is predominantly
sour and completely devoid of sweetness. Friends who are accustomed to the sweet
and sour flavor of Taiwanese-style pickled vegetables may find it unfamiliar, but
personally, I absolutely love this type. It's becoming increasingly difficult to find this
kind of naturally fermented pickled vegetables from other provinces. There should still
be some available at the Hunan-style beef noodle restaurant in the downtown area of
Taichung City.
One small spoon of spicy bean paste is often added alongside Chinese-style pickled
vegetables, making it truly one of the iconic condiments in rural neighborhoods.
炒好的肉絲配上大量的蔥絲上桌,屬於重口味的殺白飯好料。
Stir-fried shredded meat with a generous amount of scallions served on top is a savory
dish that pairs well with rice, appealing to those who enjoy bold flavors.
蝦仁烘蛋190元,雞蛋、蝦仁與青蔥的鐵三角組合,口味方面就比較沒有
那麼重。
Shrimp and Egg Omelette is priced at $190 . The combination of chicken eggs, shrimp,
and green onions creates a balanced flavor profile that is not too heavy.
但烘蛋本身下油就比較重,蛋餅又易吸油,所以建議趁熱吃比較不會感
到膩口。
The pancake itself is inherently greasier, and the egg pancake tends to absorb oil easily. Therefore, it is recommended to eat it while it's hot to prevent it from feeling too greasy.
香酥鴨半隻280元,鴨子醃漬好先蒸後炸,才一上桌香味就撲鼻而來,
鴨皮部分炸的成色感覺就非常的酥脆。
Half a crispy duck costs $280. The duck is marinated, steamed, and then fried. As soon
as it is served, the fragrance fills the air. The crispy skin is incredibly crunchy and
delicious.
雖然是整隻鴨子下鍋油炸,不過吃起來卻是不油不膩,即使冷掉也不會
出現惱人的油耗味,搭配胡椒鹽一起吃風味更佳喔。
Although the entire duck is deep-fried in oil, it is surprisingly not greasy or oily when
eaten. Even when it cools down, it doesn't have that annoying oily taste. It tastes even
better when eaten with salt and pepper.
開陽白菜(小)110元,口味較重的炒法,果然是眷村菜。
Kaiyang cabbage (small) costs 110 yuan. The heavy-flavored stir-frying method truly represents military dependent village cuisine.
宮保肥腸190元,將宮保雞丁的雞丁改用豬肥腸來製作,是一到又下飯也
很適合下酒的料理。
Kung Pao Pork Intestines for 190 NTD is a delicious and perfect dish to accompany rice
or enjoy with drinks.
肥腸切片之後下油鍋炸至香酥,然後在加配料炒宮保,原本以為肥腸會
油孜孜的,結果吃起來竟然有酥脆感一點都不油膩,有驚豔到喔!
After slicing the pork intestine, it was deep-fried in hot oil until crispy. Then, it was
stir-fried with ingredients to make Gong Bao. I initially thought that the pork intestine
would be greasy, but to my surprise, it was crispy and not at all oily. It was truly amazing!
肉絲蛋炒飯(小)60元,粒粒分明的炒飯,表現得中規中矩。
Stir-fried Rice with Shredded Pork and Egg (Small) costs $60. The rice is stir-fried to
perfection, with distinct grains, and it showcases an average performance.
特製涼麵50元,有別於一般我們吃到的涼麵多是用油鹼麵,復興餐廳的
涼麵採用的是白色的扁麵條,也就是他們山東人的家常麵。煮熟過冷水
冰鎮後的麵條份量不少,淋上涼麵醬汁後在鋪上小黃瓜、胡蘿蔔以及肉
絲等三絲配料之後即可上桌。
Special Cold Noodles for $50, unlike the cold noodles we usually eat, which are mostly
made with alkaline noodles. The cold noodles at Fu Xing Restaurant are made with white
flat noodles, which are the homemade noodles of Shandong people. After boiling and
chilling in cold water, a generous portion of noodles is served, topped with cold noodle
sauce and garnished with shredded cucumber, carrot, and meat.
吃的時候只要先用筷子充分拌勻,即可享用這道非常適合夏天的餐點。
To enjoy this refreshing summer dish, simply mix it well with chopsticks before eating.
牛肉炒麵
Beef Stir-Fried Noodles(小$90)
牛肉炒麵就用回大家所熟悉的油鹼麵了,大致來說配料還算豐富,牛肉處理
得還不錯,吃起來還滿嫩。
Beef Stir-Fried Noodles are made with the familiar alkaline noodles, in general.The
ingredients are relatively abundant, and the beef is cooked quite well, making it tender
and enjoyable to eat.
在味道方面據友人說好像還挺不錯,湯汁收尾得很好不拖泥帶水。
According to my friend, the taste seems to be quite good, and the soup has a nice
finish without being watery or muddy.
Since there is an option for beef noodles on the menu, of course, I'll order a bowl to give
it a try. The beef noodles come in only one size, which is a medium bowl, and the price is $90(2015), which is considered reasonable.
先嚐一口湯,看似紅燒口味的湯頭其實喝起來味道有點單薄,沒有喝到
牛骨高湯應有的香,整體而言比較像醬油加水,無層次。
Take a sip of the soup and it appears to have a braised flavor, but the taste is somewhat
bland. It lacks the rich aroma of beef bone broth that one would expect. Overall, it
resembles more of a diluted soy sauce and water mixture, lacking depth.
麵條則是一般機器麵條,不過口感上還算彈牙,泡在湯裡一段時間也還
不會整個糊掉,麵量頗多。
The noodles are regular machine-made noodles, but they have a chewy texture. Even
when soaked in soup for a while, they don't become mushy. There is also a generous
amount of noodles.
最後來看牛肉麵裡的紅燒牛肉,這個就應該要好好稱讚一下了~使用的
部位是我最愛的牛腱子肉,半筋半肉口感豐富,且也比較不油膩。
Finally, let's talk about the braised beef in beef noodle soup. This one definitely deserves
some praise. The beef used is my favorite, beef shank, which has a perfect balance of
tendons and meat, providing a rich texture without being too greasy.
吃起來的口感也很棒,真不曉得他們的湯頭美味度跟肉來比怎可以落差這
麼大?不知道孟奶奶有沒有單賣這個紅燒牛肉?XD
所謂眷村菜,其實就是揉合了許多菜系元素發展出來的家常菜,也沒有
所謂正統不正統的問題。吃的,是隔壁鄰居家裡餐桌上的味道,也是在
冰箱記憶中那段在村子裡奔跑的回憶,不是嗎?
